Fitting out my new bike and my OCD is getting flustered with 3t and their stripes.

I have the Dorico Team seatpost (red stripe)
I am ordering the ARX Team Stem (red stripe)

Now I have decided I want the Ergosum bars but I dont want carbon and therefore have to have a white stripe. OCD overload :-(

Have I missed something or are the red stripes only available on the carbon bars?

I believe so. The colour matches the hierarchy: red = Team and all Team bars are carbon.

    OCD

"Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear or worry, repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety, or a combination of such obsessions and compulsions. Symptoms of the disorder include excessive washing or cleaning, repeated checking, extreme hoarding, preoccupation with sexual, violent or religious thoughts, relationship-related obsessions, aversion to particular numbers and nervous rituals such as opening and closing a door a certain number of times before entering or leaving a room."

I think what you describe is called wanting the colours to match

You think you have it bad with OCD, I've got CDO.
It's exactly the same but in the right order.

Have the same 3T setup (black/red stem and seat post, with black/white bars) and my solution was black fi'zi:k saddle with white stripe down the middle.

Too much red can be a bit much IMO and the two ends of the bike balance out nicely.
Red/black stem leading to white/black bars, and red/black seat post leading to white/black saddle

OCD happy lol and you are not tied to one colour for other stuff.

3T do saddles but I like fi'zi:k ones.

Make sure you do not go too far along the bar with the bar tape
You only need to hold it where it curves

    They are lovely bars IMO.

Edit: Just seen this pic

Lol! I have tried many a saddle and only seem to get on with the spec toupe, so its plain black up there.

Think I will just order the black and white bars as like you say the contrast will work well.

    Cheers :-)

I use acetone to take some of the red paint of some of my 3t bits. Looks much better.

I was looking at 3T on my bike but got Fizik Cyrano instead. Black on black with only a small amount of red or white on them. Looks so much better. Only other alternative was Deda superleggera black on black which looks very smart paired with a pro logo saddle
  • ^Agree with this, the Fizik stuff looks much nicer than the 3T

    +1,000,000 :D

You cannot speak on behalf of 999,999 other people.

There is plenty of time for riding after he has a bike he loves the look of as well as how it rides

I'd question whether its logo's or colours matching?

The logos would already be matching as the OP is buying bars and stem from the same manufacturer regardless of what colour he gets.

I would, but thats the part I have a problem with at the moment. Reason I bought a new frame is because I snapped my top tube last weekend. Been in hospital for a few days and got a cracking haematoma (10x7) on my left thigh. Plenty of time to ride once its gone, but plenty of time to obsess over visuals for now ;-)

Yeah I'm sort of put off 3t because of that, my bike is black and silver so was thinking of getting the white stem and bar and the limited edition seatpost thats black silver and white ;) will do for me :D

Goodness, I hope everything is going better now, don't let the angry birds  here get you down. I too have CDO (yes its in the correct order, of course  ) and getting those little details in is the best part sometimes.
