Hi All

A warning and a bit of advise please

Had a mole removed and it turns out it is Maligmant Melanoma. Told to keep out the sun during the peak hours sun cream sun hats etc. Firstly, all just be careful when you are out and get all moles checked early. I could have gone earlier and did not and means extra surgery.

My question is: Are there any cycling tops that are advertised with UV protection. I seem to have found some running T-shirts with this on the Evans web site but can not see any under cycling tops.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that... Despite the delay I hope that's something the surgery can sort out.

I have a summer specialized jersey which is very thin and has long sleeves. It's called a 'solar jet' jersey and has an SPF rating, so this may be the kind of thing you're after.

Cyclestore are doing the short sleeve cheap, so maybe worth a look?

They also have the long sleeve (but in XL only)

I also think some of the Mavic stuff (jerseys and arm warmers) also have SPF ratings).
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

I just found out from reading the TDF special of Cyclist that carbon bikes have UV protection built into the clear coat. Never would have guessed!

Alas, that is not much help for your jersey search.

I'm terrible for not putting on sun cream!! This thread has made me take note.

You could buy a base layer with sun protection, then you can wear whatever jersey you like.
    For example - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/craft-cool-mesh ... ase-layer/

    Hi humpyg

Would you believe it, I ordered this on Monday and arrived yesterday, with 3 bags of haribo too :) .
Thought that 2 layers maybe better than one too,

    thanks for the suggestion

I thought all good quality jerseys did. My Specialized ones do and I'm pretty sure my Gore Bike Wear ones do to.
