Clowns driving down a cycletrack to avoid roadworks!!

Theres some roadworks going on near Keswick on the A66 and just before them is the old main road that is now a cycleway. As you can imagine its still passable by a car although the surface is pretty bad and covered in leaves and overgrown.
Well today on my ride home I met a car driving down it! I didn`t think anything of it as it was going slow, had a tree in the back of it, a Landie Disco, and was driven by an oldish couple.
Then at 3pm when my gf was riding back to the car some clown was flying down it in a small white van and forced her off the track into the undergrowth! A possible fatality as the vision down there is pretty poor and he`d have no chance against a family with kids down there!
The bloody idiots just to save 2 mins. It`s been reported to the cops and hopefully some fool will be busted for using it, ideally a large immovable object should be put there to stop this.
Who the hell drives down a cyclepath to avoid roadworks! If I catch anybody doing it take what they`ll get!!!!!

Nowt, it really didn`t occur to me they would be avoiding the roadworks. They weren`t "elderly", they were "older"

I`ll be going down there on monday to drag large tree trunks across the road that bikes can zig zag thru but they block cars

Providing they dont look like they're going to run you down, I'd just keep cycling towards them, get them to reverse the whole way back. If they refuse then you might crash into them, and then talk insurance?0
