I hope this topic can stay here in General to give non trackers an idea of how easy it is to have a go on track.

£11 per hour, sessions available all week. Bike inc, shoes and hat available to rent or bring your own, You get a 'coach' who tells you the rules, what not to do and sends you on your way.
I did it today for the first time, and its alot different than being a Roadie, and bloody hard work,
Deffo worth a go, I myself wouldnt want to get into as a hobby, but would go again to put myself through the wringer.

Added bonus today was straight after us the GB cycling were on training for the Commonwealth's, Trott, King, Rowswell, couple of other lasses, Clancey and a few guys too, was nice to see them training together (England, Wales, Scotland).

The downside is I thought I had done alright until they showed me how to really put laps in

I did a similar session at Newport, it was awesome. A load of us hired the whole track with 2 coaches for 4 hours, split into 2 groups and alternated on the track. Great way to spend half a day, amazingly good value. Can't wait to go again, the first time is about learning the basics and building some confidence.

    I did one last year.

I can safely say it was one of my favourite bike experiences.....we were lucky enough to have 2 hours. We just went around the track, slowly getting more confident, getting higher up and playing more with drafting etc. We then did a time trial of one lap...

It was Very warm as I think they have to keep it at a high temp for the wood or something? I cannot remember why...but it was incredible. All decent equipment provided ( shoes, bike ).

Would thorough recommend, and yes, it makes you appreciate how epic the Chris Hoy's and Laura Trott's are.
