Tyre size on H Plus Son Archetype rims

I've got H Plus Son Archetype rims which are quite wide at 23mm.
I'm used to riding 25mm tyres, but in reality they're more like 28mm wide when fitted.
H Plus Son say "The well accepted 23mm wide profile mimics a tubular tire, where the advantage can be felt immediately while taking corners as the tire is no longer shaped as a light bulb, flopping over with high load."
So stick with 25mm or drop down to 23mm?
Thoughts before I go and just try it.

I have 25's on my rims and love them.0

The wider, the better - lower pressures, smoother ride, less rolling resistance...0

23's summer, 25s autumn/ winter/ springI'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

I'm quite a heavy rider and being a mountain biker I do love a good descent. My guide to navigating using the Garmin Edge 800

i'm using either specialized 24mm or conti 25mm on these. they roll better definitely, and are much better for bump absorption, and handle just fine.
if you are a weight weenie 20 grams or so extra may cause you to have palpitations... either way 24mm or above is good.0 -
I'm surprised people still run 23s...Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

I initially ran my 25mm Michelin Pro4 SC on the archetype rims and they did balloon up like 28's...rode ok though...but very tight when I fitted my Crud Road racers, so changed to 25mm Conti 4 Seasons for winter, which don't come up so big.....
...for summer I run 23mm Pro4 SC's (at 90psi - I'm 10 stone) and they're spot on, I reckon...0 -
I use 23mm front, 25mm rear- both Gp4000s
The 23mm sits quite round, and the 25mm is a bit more bulbous. Pretty happy with the combination.0 -
Thanks, good to have thoughts from people that actually use these rims, not the general 23/25 debate.
Not had a problem with my 25s, just need some new tyres so was curious. But I've now ordered some more 25s.My guide to navigating using the Garmin Edge 800

I have rubine pro 25's on mine and the difference it has made to the ride is rather large. Roads seem much smoother than they used to. The tyres don't look silly or like balloons- they used to on my old rims!RIP commute...
