Looking at the pros on Strava it seems to me they had an easy time! :D

For example http://www.strava.com/activities/162051441/heartrate

I know they are fitter and faster, but effort and pain is surely relative to your own fitness. I get more points in the red and higher suffer scores on nearly all my rides!

Well, watching it on TV I had the impression nobody wanted to race until the last 20 Km. You can pretty much delete the all stage and tune in just in time for Cancellara's attack, the only notable point in the stage, together with Cavendish spectacular crash.

Frankly, for the viewers a complete waste of time

Yeah, fairly boring stage for me, until the very end. Stage two so far, seems more interesting

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I am not convinced.

How much time you spend close to your maximum heart rate is the only true measure of how hard you tried (not what you achieved). I take nothing from their power, fitness, tactics, etc. but at the end of the day I am sure that most people on here work harder on their training runs than we have seen so far on the Tour.

The stages have to be long to weed out the weakest but it seems there are a significant number who goof off for four hours and then do a bit of work in the last hour.

I like the scenery, the spectacle etc, but I think I prefer seeing the effort put into the time trials. The riders seems to be on their last breath as they cross the line. That's the way it should be.

There's a load of Strava junkies crying themselves to sleep in Yorkshire at the moment.
