Was in the south this year and hardly saw anyone on bikes full stop. I asked a taxi driver about cycling and he said it's quite dangeorus in the towns (probably because nobody does it). However, we went on an excursion inland to a national park and would have loved to have had my bike. The road surface wasn't too great but there was very little traffic and the scenary was spectacular.
I assume some people ride: we were in Antalya and on the way to the airport saw what looked like a good LBS with road bikes in the window.

Yeh id be trying to stay away from any major towns. The coast roads and possibly some of the mountain roads look fairly dooable. cheers :)

You might have trouble finding cyclist-friendly food. Didn't see much on offer apart from variations of meat-on-a-stick :-)

I was in Calis, near Fethiye last year for a holiday. mrs CR and I rented a couple of wrecks from a beach side place and cycled a short way to Fethiye. Most of this was along a very pleasant promenade and then a very good lunch in Fethiye. I couldn't comment on what conditions would be like for "serious" cycling though.
