Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place - but hope someone can help.
I'm riding over (from Leeds) to watch Stage 2 of the TDF at Ripponden on Sunday, after that I need to get myself to Manchester Piccadilly to catch the train back down south - question is can someone point me in the direction of a simple to follow & pleasant route?
I've got a Garmin 500 and can obviously plot a route on Garmin Connect and upload it to my device to follow however as I'm not too familiar with the area thought I'd canvas for advice and guidance to avoid routing myself through busy roads or less than pleasant areas.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

This should be fine for you. But the last 6-8 miles will be busy, but all routes into Manchester are going to be. But they are safe enough if you are confident in trafficSpecialized S Works SL2 . Campagnolo Record 11spd. rolling on Campag Zonda wheels

That's great much appreciated.
TBH I live in the country and am lucky as I don't ride in much traffic but I'm sure I'll get by,I had also looked at another route via Oldham which seems to run along the Roachdale? canal for a bit (hence avoiding a lot of traffic), Google earth suggests there is a paved path along the canal, any idea if that is the case and also if it is a good area to be cycling through or if I'd be better on the road.
Thanks
