Ohhh, that's a good one. I may try just removing anything below the knees. I could save quite a few grams that way.0 -

A lenticular disc or a set of wheel-covers can improve a further 5-10 seconds on that, possibly more in a stronger crosswind.
Performance estimates are based on a number of assumptions. Individual results may vary. Key assumptions are:-
• Speeds around 30 mph.
• Flat course.
• Negligible wind.
• Typical rider and bike proportions."
I think "30 MPH" says it all there. I don't doubt the claim but have my doubts about the average rider hitting 30 MPH for 25 miles.0 -

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a bit more, in this thread, of what you might call "picking apart the flaws in the testing" that they did. I'm no aero genius by a long shot but just have the feeling that they have overlooked, missed, didn't account for, etc. something or somethings in their testing. Or worse, they could have wanted to prove that shaving works and were biased from the start. In any case a nice attempt at looking at a difficult subject.0 -
Nobody seriously thinks that shaved legs are faster, do they..??0

I noticed that one of the testers said that one of the reasons for shaving legs is that the girls like it. From random girls and women that I have met, most of them claim to dislike it when "their man" shaves his legs. "Creepy" was a word many of them used, including my wife. :?
Then again lots of people probably think I'm creepy, shaved or unshaved.0 -
