Apple, Garmin and Livetrack

There appears to be a firmware conflict between the latest Apple IOS system and Garmin's Livetrack. My phone updated itself recently, before which Livetrack worked fine and without issue. Since the OS update, the device connects via Bluetooth, Livetrack connects, but with minutes connectivity is lost. I've looked on the Garmin forums and it seems it is all down to Apple and Garmin not talking to each other. Anyone else having the same issue and I assume any Android users aren't having a problem? If Android is still working fine, I may have to resort to carrying a spare android phone around instead.

Appears there may be a work around to solve the problem which I will try and report back on. Some success has been had by uninstalling the Garmin Connect app from the phone and re installing it.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Do you actually use the livetrack feature?
I just can't imagine anyone being bothered to check up someone else's position on a ride0 -
Dear Wife, I'm going on a cycling excursion and if I'm not back by 4pm please find me on live track as I might be lost/dead on a mountain road.Advocate of disc brakes.0

Err yes. As a group it's useful to be able to track when the rider is nearing the RV point to meet up and it lets my wife know I'm still moving and not in a ditch having been cleared up.
For those who are interested, uninstalling and re-installing the Garmin Connect app cures the connectivity issue. Well it does with my 810 and hopefully for the 510 and 1000 if owners have experienced similar issues.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0
