Moving to Jersey - Which Cycling Club?

I am moving to Jersey in a months time and want to join a cycling club when I get there.

I have done a bit of googling and there seems to only be 2 clubs on the island which are Velo Sport Jersey and Caesarean Cycling Club, both of which look good but I am keen to get opinions of those who either are members of the clubs or have knowledge of them.

My goals are to get fit again and to start racing again, mainly crits but possibly road racing if I get fit/light enough again.

What is also important is well structured organised club rides, such as longer weekend rides and focused training rides in the evenings, also a good social scene such as regular club nights etc would be great as well.

So anyone on here live in Jersey and are a member of either club and can give some advice on which club is best to join or anyone have any opinions on either club?

I have asked the advice of my OH and her input is join the one with the best looking kit, which I suppose is also important

Thanks in advance.

I honestly had to google the second club as I thought that maybe your computer had spell checked you incorrectly, what an interesting name for a club :o

Think i'd probably go with the Velo's based on name alone!

Don't know how you missed the Equipe Flamme Rouge website perhaps because they are not a "club" as such , they are based in Jersey and have regular rides on Sat/Sundays the members are nearly all on Strava and the numbers on the rideouts seems to be 20+ on most runs.

A clubmate of mine is from Jersey and was wearing a shirt the other day with "ccc.je" emblazoned on it - a rather fetching red and yellow combo IIRC. I wondered what the CCC stood for. Now I know.

If I see him at the weekend I'll ask him about the clubs. My guess is he'll be biased...
