Public liability insurance should cover this, if the rider that caused the accident has home insurance it will likely be included. It is also included if they are a member of CTC or British Cycling or similar

    Good luck

It won't as home insurance includes Property Owners Liability and that only works if the accident was on the insureds property and negligence can be proven.

it really does depend on the insurance provider and the cover youve got, some do provide that extra cover for bikes outside of the property, obviously you pay extra for it, you may even be paying extra for it and not realising it covers it, but there really isnt a hard/fast rule unfortunately on it except read the small print.

Unless the crash was caused maliciously I'd leave it alone.
Trying to find someone to blame all the time is a pathetic way to live.
The attitude that everything can or should be fixed is a major social problem in my opinion. People need to learn to accept that things happen and you're not always owed something as a result.

When something good or profitable happens do you go lookong for someone to thank or repay? Bet you don't!

    Couldn't have put it better.

    +1

But it is always a shame when someone doesn't honour a gentleman's agreement.

Yes there is. The higher end policies will provide personal liability cover which is what you're referring to but this is not offered via your Direct Lines etc. Public Liability is a whole different ball game.
