Sorry for the delay been out on my bike!

I'm not sure of anywhere in particular, I don't often stop unless I'm with the missus. Did pass loads of places but when I needed a drink refill all there were were pubs. Although, when on cafe rides with the missus I've always found this really good:- http://www.cafe.southlakesgroup.org/

This is the route I'm hoping to ride http://www.strava.com/routes/414608 cuts out a bit of distance so down to 100 miles and some of the busy roads, the price you pay is about 1/3rd of the course is not the tour route.

That's quite a tough way to do it! Greenhow Hill at Pateley Bridge is quite a climb and Barden Moor is a tough little climb as well. It's a good route.

Yes, that's right, did the Oxnop Scar climb from Askrigg, Park Rash from Kettlewell (that's a b*tch!) and the Greenhow climb fron Pateley Bridge. Other than that much the same.

So basically, almost completely different to the Tour route! The only stretches of Tour route you are on is Skipton to Kettlewell and Gunnerside to Reeth plus a tiny little bit around Middleham!

Any decent places to stop along the way then? I'll be taking my own food of course but would be nice to have a couple of cafe stops at places where I can keep a close eye on my bike.

Teacups at Pateley Bridge Cattlemarket is very good. Also Farm Shop Café at Cracoe and Cottage Tea Room at Kettlewell though I've not been there myself. All bike friendly.
    Faster than a tent.......

    .

Cheers, apart from doing the Grinton climb to Leyburn and a sportive Skipton way I don't know the area. So any suggestions as to how to cut out some of the worst climbs which are off the tour route, while still keeping it a circular run of about 100 miles would be welcome!

e.g. How about heading South instead of West out of Pateley Bridge and picking up the A59 instead to go towards Bolton Abbey (not a nice road really but I've done it before and survived!)

Edit: I'm also thinking of an 88 mile version which cuts across and ends up at Grassington and a 66 mile version which cuts across from Middleham to Kettlewell.

66 miles version http://www.strava.com/routes/414608 rather less impressive but turns an epic daunting ride into a normal Sunday run out, which I can achieve without having to stop for lunch etc.
