I'm no expert. It looks odd but that may be because it's a larger frame than the ones the pro's use. I can't see anything actually different to the other pictures of dogma 2's on the interwebs.

I think most of the Chinese knock offs had a circular seat tube as well.

Why not real? If it is fake, then start worrying as it means the fakers have finally managed to do a decent job of the paint.

Also few people are cheap enough to buy a fake frame but still kit it out with Dura Ace.

Though maybe the kind of person who buys a dogma and uses that spacer stack obviously has some issues of their own.
  • It's a 62cm so above the size most of the pro's would be riding

Are you intent on buying it?

If not, who gives a f@%k?
  • Exactly why I'm asking.

How much for and where? You neglect to mention any of this in your original post.

There are more things that could show if its fake than just a picture. I would be more concerned of it being genuine but stolen

What - like being more concerned over getting a good fit than making their bike look cool to 13 year olds?

  • It's up on Ebay. Two days to go and at the moment very cheap for what it is.

Buyer seems genuine enough but there's always a nagging doubt. He's near Manchester and I'm in Essex so a viewing is out of the question.

Who? "teamgbclothing2014" who is based in Manchester and sells mostly Team GB issue clothing?

If something is too good to be true......

Contact the seller and make sure he has some sort of docs for it to prove its genuine or genuine owner. Without looking on eBay myself you can more often than not see if something looks dodgy. i.e feedback. whats the sort of stuff they have sold before. I would rather miss out on a bargain then fall into a trap.
  • Yes TeamGBClothing. Is he known on here?

I've asked for proof and he has none as the bike was a gift to him from elsewhere

Personally I think it looks genuine.

However at least one of the key measurements look wrong. I am assuming this is the 59.5 frame based on the seat tube measurement and the head tube. However the top tube looks wrong - it should be 58.7 cm rather than 57 cm. The advert does say these are his measurements, rather than the official ones. If you are looking at this then I am guessing you must be quite tall. I am 6'2 and ride the next size down, the 57.5. The 59.5 was too big for me.

Other thing is that on a frame this size the chainset looks small at 170 - would expect at least 175.
  • Yeah exactly the same thing I picked up on.

I'm 6ft 3 with a 34" inside leg. Just sold my 59cm BMC SLC01 which was pretty much perfect size for me.

You realise it's an auction and states collection only?

Ask for a picture of the serial number, under the BB. Then you can check with Pinarello if it's real or not. If it's genuine I'm sure the seller won't mind sending it to you. Surprised it's not already on the advert tbh.

The lack of pedals / saddle not give you a clue?

    What issues do you have?

Chill out mate. Most second hand bikes sell with no peddles or saddle. Doesn't have any correlation to whether the frame is genuine or not.

In the last picture I believe you can see an edge of what looks like the serial number. Certainly in the place it should be.

The finish (cockpit setup and groupo combo) on the bike looks pretty familiar, I'm pretty certain you're dealing with a genuine frameset there.

Sorry but just because the groupset & cockpit look familiar does not equate to the frame being legit!

No, but it probably does. You hardly ever see fakes that have the equipment completely correct. There's enough fools after a no questions asked, badly researched bargain for it to probably not be worth doing a proper job on it.

  • Picture of serial number received and checked.

    Genuine :)
