Hi - has anyone out there ridden the Rose Xeon DX 4400? I'd really like a road bike with disc brakes and this is one of the few out there that don't weigh 9kg +. Based on the reviews (Bike Radar and Road.cc) I've read the only downside they get marked down for is being buffeted in crosswinds. But what I don't know is how bad that is - has anyone ridden one? If it's merely an irritation, then fine, but if it's dangerous when winds hit e.g. 20mph plus, I'd like to know.

Thanks for your thoughts!

At the end of the day it's a normal bike, and isn't going to send you flying wider than any other bike. I would guess you would be fine.
  • Thanks - according to the reviews it's the broad slab presented by the combination of aero wheels and 25mm tyres that is the issue. Perhaps I should have asked what those are like to ride with. I guess they can't be that bad, or no-one would ever ride with them?!

Unless you ride in a hurricane it might at most, occasionally, be slightly more irritating. But then, in such conditions, most bikes will be slowed down to an extent.

I doubt it will be worse than the one occasion when I hit a funnel of wind with some Mavic Ksyriums on.
