Giant scr1 ... biggest tyre i can get in ?

I have a Giant scr1 which is a few years old now but still runs great and was thinking about maybe some light touring on it and was wondering whats the biggest tyre im likely to squeeze into the frame ??
and any suggestions for tyres ? ... will i get a 28 in there ?

    Hello,

    Is that the predecessor to the Defy? Are you using mudguards if so what make/type. Depends on the frame clearances and rim width I'd have thought. The only way to be sure is to order 1 with a folding bead from a retailer that does free returns and suck it and see. If you are careful when fitting then you should be able to return/exchange it if it is too big.

    Yeah the one before the defy , do have a set of crud guards to go on , i think i may have to bite the bullet and order something and see !
