idiot cyclist!

It's amazing how many just can't grasp the exceptionally simple concept of ride on the left! Just because you're on a shared use path on the 'wrong' side of the road, does not mean this doesn't apply!
In addition, if you're riding 2 abreast on that same path and there's a cyclist coming towards you, single up! I don't appreciate being nearly forced into a dual carriageway because you want to ride beside your mate.0 -

They swarmed past me and several of them cut in so close I had to slam the brake on.
Cnuts. Sometimes I really can't stand the self-absorbed club riders. No wonder the drivers hate us...
Smack them on the leg. 'Giving them a shove' is not advisable as most people will wobble about like they are made of jelly and take out everyone.
Maybe learn to be more assertive? Make yourself bigger on the bike (no jokes about my bulk from anyone who knows me please). Spread your elbows a bit to get yourself more room (this does not mean riding dangerously and throwing a hook), and speak to let the other rider know that you think they're coming too close. Alternatively, ride like a very (very) well known time trialist from the '60s and '70s who I'm told rode in a 1 metre wide bubble in road races because he was always heaving such a big gear that he couldn't ride in a straight line...Have to agree with the complaint though, there are many "serious" riders who take themselves far too seriously (and frankly overestimate their own abilities) which makes them a danger to themselves and others.0 -
People get single focus, a number of years back I'd stopped early in Richmond park and lent the bike against the kerb, some distance after coming down Broomfield as I was standing taking next to the bike off a jacket and pondering going for a coffee another rider inspite of what 1/4 mile to see me, rode at speed into my leg, luckily for me, My weight meant he came off worse, going over the bars, fracturing his nice looking dura ace wheels frame had a few chunks taken out of the carbon. He also hit the ground hard.
From where I was standing you could see the roundabout so he had clear visibility yet, didn't see what he didn't expect.0
