Raleigh clubman

Reynolds 531 frame and fork
Duraace, ultegra, 105 mix
Novatech wheels (I do have some weinman/Tiagra ones it came with)
Ritchey classic finishing kit
Brooks flyer saddle

Popped the wheels on it for a spin in the sun, wow wasn't expecting it to ride as well as it did...

The N2A might be left wheelless and in the garage for a whole

If you put a modern saddle on, 50mm wheels and slammed the stem that would look perfect. Something isn't right here at the moment but it still looks really nice!

I have no idea what's going on here.

A modernised classic I think it looks fine.

Any chance of a side pic? I think I may have found my equal best looking coolest bike on the forum.

    Doesn't need 50s - those 80s are so cool.

    Very well done that man.

Nothing arty farty needed - we just need to see it side on. And from the front. And maybe the back. That's all.

If you can throw some norks in on the piccies that would be great as well.

Oh yes, that is beautiful! I cannot wait to see more pictures! Lots, please!

Would love to hear about your experiences with the stem adapter and with fitting the wheel in - how many gears are there and was there any issues (I am about to embark on a similar sort of modernisation process with an old Gazelle Formula Race and have been puzzling over these two facets)? I can only hope it will turn out as beautifully as your Clubman!

Are you using a quill to A head adaptor? Or is it a threadless headset?

I'll not be slamming the stem with those forks, I am however going to be getting some carbon forks and spraying them the same colour... So they will be slammed :-)

Brooks tape hasn't been ordered yet unfortunately! Will do it tonight :-)

Its a standard 1 1/8 external cup headset...

It looks lovely, apart from that horrid old brown saddle.

Noooooooooooooo - brown saddle keeps it retro cool - and its probably well comfy by now judging from the state of it.

    Sprayed carbon forks will rock.

I love it! Take it easy on the slamming, that's a fairly big drop as is :)

That is most definitely not a big drop.

Also, I still think it would look so much better with shallower wheels!

Those 80s accentuate the trad look contrasting with modern in an almost in your face kinda way - they rock. They'll also make a cracking noise as they bomb along and be as stiff and anything.

Drop is fine - slam away and keep us updated re new forks and bar tape.

    Seriously well done that man.
