Raleigh clubman
Reynolds 531 frame and fork
Duraace, ultegra, 105 mix
Novatech wheels (I do have some weinman/Tiagra ones it came with)
Ritchey classic finishing kit
Brooks flyer saddle
Popped the wheels on it for a spin in the sun, wow wasn't expecting it to ride as well as it did...
The N2A might be left wheelless and in the garage for a whole

Excuse the peds... Left my roadie shoes at work... Doh!0

If you put a modern saddle on, 50mm wheels and slammed the stem that would look perfect. Something isn't right here at the moment but it still looks really nice!
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
A modernised classic I think it looks fine.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Any chance of a side pic? I think I may have found my equal best looking coolest bike on the forum.
Doesn't need 50s - those 80s are so cool.
Very well done that man.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

He, he... nice one...0

Very cool mix of old and new, I really like it. Great to see old frames being reused again!0

sorry! I'll take some on my ride tomorrow night.. Promise :-)0

Nothing arty farty needed - we just need to see it side on. And from the front. And maybe the back. That's all.
If you can throw some norks in on the piccies that would be great as well.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Oh yes, that is beautiful! I cannot wait to see more pictures! Lots, please!
Would love to hear about your experiences with the stem adapter and with fitting the wheel in - how many gears are there and was there any issues (I am about to embark on a similar sort of modernisation process with an old Gazelle Formula Race and have been puzzling over these two facets)? I can only hope it will turn out as beautifully as your Clubman!0 -
A couple of picture on the way
No stem adaptor needed or any issues with the wheels a its a modern frame but with classical looks0 -
Here we go, again, apologies for the pedals, I have Ritchey WCS ones I usually run

Really nice, and yes, brown tape to match the saddle.0

Have you ordered the brown tape yet? If not, why not?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Are you using a quill to A head adaptor? Or is it a threadless headset?Red bikes are the fastest.0
-
I'll not be slamming the stem with those forks, I am however going to be getting some carbon forks and spraying them the same colour... So they will be slammed :-)
Brooks tape hasn't been ordered yet unfortunately! Will do it tonight :-)
Its a standard 1 1/8 external cup headset...
Steel is real homies0 -
It looks lovely, apart from that horrid old brown saddle.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

Noooooooooooooo - brown saddle keeps it retro cool - and its probably well comfy by now judging from the state of it.
Sprayed carbon forks will rock.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

-
very nice
thanks for the reply regarding stem, i thought it looked adapted due to the spacer situation!
and yes, steel IS real!0 -
I love it! Take it easy on the slamming, that's a fairly big drop as is0

That is most definitely not a big drop.
Also, I still think it would look so much better with shallower wheels!

Those 80s accentuate the trad look contrasting with modern in an almost in your face kinda way - they rock. They'll also make a cracking noise as they bomb along and be as stiff and anything.
Drop is fine - slam away and keep us updated re new forks and bar tape.
Seriously well done that man.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am
