What is the difference between the Ultegra rear derailleurs RD6700 SS and RD6700 GS ?

GS has a longer cage, so can handle a wider spread of gears. If you're riding a double or compact with a 28T largest sprocket at the back, you can use an SS (short cage) mech; if you're riding a triple or have a largest sprocket with more than 28T, you need a GS mech.
