Upgrading Group Set - BB30 Troubles...
Morning,
I'm upgrading my Cannondale's Super Six Groupset which is currently 105 with FSA crankset on a BB30.
Shifters, Brakes & Mechs will become Ultegra or Dura Ace depending on budget, but my knowledge gets mucky when it comes to the current Fsa Gossamer Pro BB30... I'd like to run with Shimano again (I'm a believer!) But they don't produce for BB30 so I understand I have to use an adaptor? My question is, are they decent & safe or am I better off getting another BB30 Crankset - if so, suggestions up to £200 max please!
Cheers.

This is the best one I have come across. Used one in my Parlee after the Parlee adaptor failed. Very easy to fit and since fitting no problems. There are a number of adaptors out there which will allow you to use Shimano chainset in a BB30 frame.

i have one of those, seemed the best option at the time.
If you have PF30 (pressfit) - my supersix evo has this, then SRAM do a push in plastic adapter that is threaded to accept normal shimano etc 24mm external BB cups - just picked up a few from planetx in their sale for £8 each0 -
I don't know how I feel about putting force onto a plastic thread? I guess it's fine? Anyone use these?!?!

That's a PF30 adapter, which won't fit a BB30 frame.
This confusion is often compounded by people referring to PF30 as "press-fit BB30".0 -
I've used the PF30 version of this

I had initial problems with creaking but that was more due to the cranks than the adapter. It's all sorted now and is doing what it should be doing admittedly after only 70 miles.
I've also heard good things about the Praxis one.0 -

yeah, those are the ones i just ordered. will be fine0 -
The link is for a PF30 adaptor - it simply won't fit a BB30, see below. Screwing a metal cup into a plastic thread is also just asking for trouble. Go for the Praxis or KCNC if money is tight and make sure you use suitable Loctite or anti-seize to stop it creaking.

i've got the praxis PF30, will likely remove it and fit the SRAM so I can have a shimano BB in there rather than loose bearings without much protection
My supersix has the PF30 and seems as people can get terminology wrong, is why I mentioned it.
For BB30, i'd go with the praxis I think as the other option I had at the time was to glue in a threaded sleeve which seemed a bit naff0 -
I put a praxis on a tarmac frame with shimano crank - this praxis thing is the best I have had - fit and forget in my book.0
