So the Domane comes with whitewall tyres
Apart from a black marker or black tyres what can I clean the tyres with to get/keep them looking reasonably clean, abit wary as I dont want to be losing mm's of grip with the wrong product.

Sorry, dont know, but I would avoid using solvents etc. I had a pair of white Vredesteins that got covered in tar from a new road surface (rare event). I tied a gentle solvent but patches of tread started flaking away a week or two later. I would suggest dishwash liquid might work.0

if you clean the sidewalls, you're just calling attention to the fact that the tyres are the wrong colour, people will point at you and laugh
allow them to don the cape of grimy invisibilitymy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
There is nothing as good, or as cheap as Aldi Caravan Cleaner.
Put it in a Hozelock garden spray bottle and use it on the whole bike. Neat, leave for five minutes, brush, hose off.

Muc Off works fine on my son's BMX's white walls, leave it on for five minutes if it's covered chain clunge.
P.S. White tyres are borderline acceptable on a bike with white trim, decals or finishing kit and you in white kit if in doubt see Rule #8I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -
