Just bought some Dura ace 9001 shifters, rear mech and front mech, anyone know if this will work with 2013 Sram red Chainset 10 speed. Read various conflicting reports. Holding up a 11 speed force and ultegra 6800 against my red chainset the distance between the two chainrings looks identical. Also wondering if I keep sram red front mech.

  • I believe the front mech are the same. I have certainly run SRAM rival front mech with ultra shifters. Rear mech is a different matter.

I think chain sets are OK as well.

Should work, but run the DA front mech. I think the pull ratio is different and DA9000 front shifting is a thing of beauty (with DA chainset so your results may vary).

May give it a try with the Yaw front mech first, I like the built in chain catcher.

Definitely different pull ratio. Shame to have nice kit that shifts worse than entry level kit...

I run Ultegra 6800 with a 10sp Sram Red chainset, zero problems and the slickest change since 7800, I enquired at Mercian in Derby before hand and they said that there wouldn't be an issue.

The problem is with mixing mechs, not chainsets.

Like I say have the Shimano front mech so will give it a go with the Sram one which is already fitted, will let you know the results.
