All this is a bit worrying!, I have a VN Zephyr that I have owned for five years covering about 15000 miles and love it to bits. Thinking of another Ti bike late this year or early next, probably will not be a VN when I see pictures like that and hear of warranty issues....

New Ti frame desired after only 15000 miles?! Whatever happened to "Ti frames are for life"?!

So much for titanium lasting forever. Are you seriously considering selling the bike to someone else so that they can injure themselves when it gives way?
  • I had a very frustrating experience with VN trying to buy a bike from them. Terrible communication, terrible service, got delayed and delayed for 6 months then I finally gave up with them. I've never dealt with a company with such bad customer service. I never got aggressive with them either, but if their offices had been in the UK, I'd have taken a drive there and sorted it out in person. I think that since the original founder left, the company has gone downhill. There are much better companies to go to, with similar products. To the OP, definitely don't ride that frame the way it is..

Glad I saw this thread, I was thinking of a VN Ventus as my next N+1, but I can now look elsewhere - I think I'll stick to finding a nice steel frame!

The bad news for people thinking about getting a Ti frame this week is that the best UK maker, Burls, get all their frame building done in Russia.

Why is Burls being built in Russia 'bad news'?

I bought my vn ventus eighteen months ago and have had no problems with it in any way. Still as pleased with it as the day I got it. Best bike I have owned in thirty years of riding :D
