Pain after a bike fit

I've had a bike fit last week and found it needed quite a bit of adjustment. Never had pain before but I sort of knew that it wasn't set up the best.
So I get a bike fit and after a 50 miler on Sunday I get a pain at the top of my calf sort of behind the knee. After a bit of Googling I'm pretty sure it's the plantar tendon at the top of the calf that's the pain.
Has anybody else had pains after a bike fit ?
I rang the guy who did it and he did admit to forgetting to tell me that I should take it easy on the bike as he had to adjust it so much. He said 50 miles was a bit much .
Does this sound right ?

If you have had a good bike fit and it is very different to your previous riding position your body will take a few rides to adapt. Road bike setup is annoying as it has to be very accurate.
I did my own adjustments and went from back, knee, ankle, seat pain to being able to ride for hours now with no problems. I did mine in stages so the changes were not too dramatic. Also I didn't have and previous injuries.
His advice about 50 miles being a bit much is likely to be right especially if you didn't take it easy.0
