Stuck an order on Ribble yesterday, not expecting it to progress over the weekend, however the status says "Credit Hold" with a message saying contact customer services

Obviously I can't do that till tomorrow, I just wondered in the meantime, if anyone else had experienced this and what the reason was?

I paid by Paypal and the money has gone through and off my debit card so I really dunno what's going on
2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium
2020 Merida Reacto Disc Ltd - black on black
2015 CAAD8 105 - very green - stripped to turbo bike

The departed:

2017 Cervelo R3 DI2 - sold
Boardman CX Team - sold
Cannondale Synapse - broken
Cube Streamer - stolen
Boardman Road Comp - stolen

Probably because it's the weekend, computers and banks don't work at the weekend. :)

Was it an expensive order. If it's out of line with your usual spending pattern then often your Bank's computer will flag it as a possible fraud. You might get a call from the Bank tomorrow.
  • Nah. It's just a weekend thing. It sorts itself out. Happened to me a few times

Either that or PayPal are playing that game where they mysteriously keep hold of your money for a few days before handing it over 'pending investigation' i.e. gathering interest on it.
