Been looking at a Ritte Bosberg frame. Anyone owned or had any experiences with them?

Thanks in advance

Until now I had never heard of them though after looking I think they look great! Keen to hear how they ride and I could be tempted myself.
  • I've heard a lot of good things about them on other forums. But then again a lot of people say they are just cheap Chinese frames painted up nicely. So not quite sure which way to go really, be interesting to hear more about the ride.

I have one that I bought secondhand and built-up as my weekend bike.

I've loved the look of them for ages and saw one for sale in my size purely by chance.

The frames themselves, at least on the early models are sourced from a Taiwanese (AFAIK) manufacturer, rather than bespoke to them. They are largely marketing (Rapha-isation) I'm not especially bothered by that since most companies manufacture over there and badge the bikes anyway , but it may put some people off.

I've only had a few rides on it due largely to the weather, but so far it's a lovely ride, stiff, responsive and fast. It's also very light, but I have CF wheelset which obviously clouds my impression somewhat :)

  • Thanks for that Matt, I see you also own an R3, funnily enough that is one of the other frames I've been looking at... How does it compare to that?

I prefer the Ritte to be honest. They're both similar in terms of the ride, both have big chainstays which seems to reduce flex and helps power transfer, but they're fairly unforgiving of less than flat roads - which I quite like. The Ritte seems to be more fun to ride though.

    Both great frames though
