I was just waiting for him to overshoot a corner and get hit by traffic coming the other way.

He's on a specially built frame though, disk brakes and strengthened fork- check the silhouette at 1:05. I checked some of the comments and his other vids, turns out he rode Red Bull Road Rage, basically 4 man downhill racing on road bikes.

This is the bike he links to in a comment, maybe not the rider.

These are the guys that kill themselves.. Nowhere near good enough technical skills to justify doing this... Was centimeters from going off road in the first overtake.

    Pretty brave racing, mind.

When I did it, that's just what I did and was on my ( campag ) brakes a lot of the time. Even so, I hit 60m.p.h and was still overtaken by another cyclist as if I was standing still !!!!!!

Love that, going to have to keep an eye on this red bull road rage thing
  • First time I went to Ventoux, the hotel owner where I was staying said there had been a fatal accident on the climb the day before. Cars pull into the middle of the road to overtake cyclists going up the climb, someone went straight into one coming down.

    Be careful out there folks!

I don't think much to his descending skills at all.

He's riding the front brake going round corners, no racer of any sort does that. You brake in a straight line.

He also seems to be painfully slow in the middle of corners because he's going too fast into them. Slow in fast out.

He's got a few other videos and it's really only a matter of time before he kills himself and/or someone else. There's so many close calls. There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. He's the wrong side of it.
