Started today, finishes Sunday. 11 jerseys are up for grabs each day!

St 1 - break of 21 riders (inc Lulu, Gerdemann, Senechal and Jeandesboz) smashed away and had over 10 mins advantage. 6 of these contested the finish with LL Sanchez taking his first win for Caja Rural.

There's usually a highlights package on French TV/youtube later.

Comments

  • IIRC it's on TV5 at some point
  • See Berhane took 3rd :)

Reminds me that they should get a bloody move on and officially name him proper winner of the 2013 Tour of Turkey

Only brief 4 minute highlights listed here, alas:

    http://www.tv5.org/cms/chaine-francophone/programmes/p-75-s1-z6-lg3-Grille-des-programmes.htm?dateClick=13&date_jour=2014-01-13&genre=

There's no listing on Sky, but think it might be part of the programme, L'INVITÉ on at 10:45pm GMT, if anyone is badly jonesin' for a 4 minute hit of some cycling

None of those was going to beat him in the sprint but good work LLS. Will be interested to see how he goes on the climbs. Charteau is a three times former winner and a former TdF KOM winner so you need good climbing legs to win.

I really like the production of these highlights packages. Mademoiselle Ndong is a good presenter too.

Going to be difficult to dislodge LL Sanchez but hopefully Berhane will risk it.
  • For the second day in a row, Songezo Jim (MTN-Qubeka) is in the breakaway :)

Just noticed that Yves Ngock was suspended by Cameroon for being a twit. Was in the break everyday last year, decent rider.

Big day for Team Rwanda - Bonaventure 'Bona' Uwizeyimana wins stage 5. From a 10 man break, Bona and Lahsaini (Morocco) chipped off in the last 20km and held the chasers at bay.

If you haven't seen these they're worth a look - MTN: African Bicycle Dream> This is episode 3 at the Tour of Rwanda:

Yes - no change to top of GC.

Plenty of action in today's stage - Berhane took some time back on Lulu on bonus sprints, a large group of 29 then broke away with some decent riders forcing Caja Rural to pin it back. With 20 odd km to go the race was altogether and another break of 19 riders chipped off. This stayed away and Wanty got another 1,2 with Frederique Robert taking the win.

    Stage 6
    1. ROBERT Frédérique Wanty - Groupe Gobert
    2. JANS Roy Wanty - Groupe Gobert
    3. CHAOUFI Tarik Morocco

The GC is the same but the time gaps are now close!
    1. SANCHEZ GIL Luis Leon Caja Rural
    2. GARCíA ETXEGIBEL Egoitz Cofidis +1 sec
    3. BERHANE Natnael Europcar +4 sec
    4. GERDEMANN Linus MTN Qhubeka
    5. HABEAUX Gregory Wanty - Groupe Gobert

Final stage tomorrow, there's a small climb and 3 intermediate sprints with time bonuses on offer. All to play for!

Victory for Natnael Berhane! Picks up enough seconds on time bonuses to overhaul LL Sanchez. As for the stage, yet another Wanty 1,2 - Robert first, Jans 2nd.

Berhane is 23 - be good to see what he can do in Europe this season.

Nice! And with Europcar now a WT team he should have plenty of chances.

Haha, nice stuff from Berhane! Shame the top lot were decided on bonus seconds...they could have sorted out some hill top finish.
