Rim tape size

Just struggled getting some tyres on my wheels and don't want to take off again until I need to. I noticed the plastic rim tape was almost "pushing through " on some spokes so made a mental note to buy some. I didn't get the size and thought it would be easy to find online. Wrong.

Wheels are DT Swiss RR1850. Any ideas ?

  • Vittoria 15 mm will almost certainly fit the bill nicely for 4 quid x 2 of them

As a quick bodge you could wrap some insulation tape round the rim beneath the rim tape to bolster it a bit.

It's fabric + plastic... technically a composite material with a bit of elasticity in it... it's a good rim tape... I fit it to all the wheels I build at the moment. Velox is an alternative but 16 mm is a bit wide and 13 can be a bit narrow for some rims
