hi all, i have a mafiabikes dirt/jump bike with a U-claw rear brake on it. i really want disc brakes on it but the frame doesnt have the right parts for me to connect them but my friend told me that i can weld a bit to the frame to allow for disc brakes.
does anybody know how i would go about doing this??
any help would be much appreciated

Maybe. It depends on many things. Frame material. Hub spacing. And ability. And if you can afford it.
You will need a full or partial repaint and maybe suitable reinforcing as well as the mount.
Any good bike shop can advise."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It's amazing how cheap you can pick up a decenct used dirt jump frame with disc mounts.

There is no point risking ruining a perfectly good frame. As Lee said, it would be a better idea to just get a frame with disc mounts.0
