What the Fork!?!?

Hi all,

I have just aquired an unused Boardman Team Carbon Road Frame which I intend to build up to a Pro Carbon spec equivalent. I need a fork though, Halfords have quoted me £144.99 for the correct Boardman fork, my question is - Would it be be worth "forking" out a 145 big ones for the original spec fork or could I get better Value For Money with an aftermarket part? - Or is it better to stick to the original part?

Does the boardman not have a tapered headtube? I think you would have to get a reducer headset to use that fork with that frame

The latest version of the bike may do, but not the version they made for a few years initially. In any case if headtube is tapered, you can still use conventional 1+1/8" fork:
