Can I change just the seat bolt to obtain Quick-Release?

I have a Boardman Comp HT (2013) and I want to install a Quick-Release seat clamp.

Am I supposed to buy a full clamp, or can I just buy a bolt to replace the existing non-QR bolt to use with my existing clamp?

And if I can buy just a bolt, how do I figure out which one will fit my existing clamp?

Also, if the seat post circumference is 10.1cm while the frame diameter near the seat is 11.3cm, how large a clamp do I need?

I'm guessing 34.9mm.

You can, but there's not much point when ok ones can be had for a fiver all in.

Most non QR clamps don't have a big enough flat to take a QR, just buy a QR clamp.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • OK, I ordered one which had good reviews for 5 GBP. Thanks.
