So I'm 14 and about 5 2 please no patronizing comments. I currently have a 50cm frame with an 8omm stem. My question is if I bought a 52cm would it fit with a small stem?

I would rather have a small frame with a longer stem, than a big frame with a short stemleft the forum March 20230

I could get a 49 or 52 but I would grow out of a 49 quick enough0

I would say 52cm is too big for you right now, it's easier to make a smaller frame fit than one that's too big

I'm 5'6" and ride a 52cm with 80mm stem so I would say no 52cm is too big for you.
Why patronising comments? It's a reasonable question.0 -
I don't know I'm 14 so I guess people might make fun.0

What is the top tube length of your bike, I ride a compact frame with a 530mm top tube and an 80mm stem, I am taller than you so I tend to think the 52 would be too big. What is the make of your bike?0

It is a corratec. I don't know the top tube length but I could measure it if it is important0

Top tube length is very important, if it is too long you will feel very stretched on it and feel less in control.0

Dont buy a 52. Way too big. You may grow into it but it could put you off cycling. A 49 will probably fit fine until you are 5-6.Pegoretti

why not stick with the 50cm one you have, how much have you grown in the last year, will you make 5' 6" by next year?my isetta is a 300cc bike0

I'm 5' 7" so a shorty too. My winter bike is a 52 sold to me by an unscrupulous dealer when I didn't know better. It is too big meaning I have to compromise on stem length and seat height. Aesthetically it looks shite. My Main bike is a 49 sloping (measured from the seat tube) and fits perfectly. Stick with the 49 until you're 5' 8" and then consider a bigger frame.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

I'm 5'4'' and ride a 48cm Focus Cayo Evo with a 90mm stem. With a top tube length of 520mm, it fits me great. Riding a 52cm frame at your current height would be miserable.0

I'm 5'4" and ride a 50cm CAAD9, I don't have much margin to adjust the seat post or bars, and would probably go down a size or 2 if a bought a 2nd bike.CAAD9
