A few tubular questions

So I'm new to the world of tubulars, I've had a pair of 38mm equinox rims build up with some hope hubs, I've just purchased a pair of 25mm vittoria corsa cx iii tyres and some glue.
The outside of the rim from brake track to brake track measures 19.5mm, I've stretched the tyres over the rims and you can see a bit of the base tape either side, is this a problem do I need narrower tyres.
Also I think I need some valve extenders, the vales are the brass type with what looks like a removable core, any recommendations for valve extenders and what size would be best, currently with the valve through the hole in the rim you can the silver thread that sits above the brass part below.
Thanks for any help.

Base tape showing on either side of the tub is the norm, and it also helps centre the tub. The whole valve is removable on Vittoria tubs and use their own brand of extender http://www.wiggle.co.uk/vittoria-remova ... 53603489540

Thanks for that about the base tape. I doesn't appear to unscrew from the base to change the whole valve. Think I need some of these.

Just need to find some in the uk and not sure on the size.0 -
The new Vittoria CX don't unscrew completely, you need to unscrew the valve top with a little key in the slot and fit an extension... any will do, I normally use the Schwalbe ones, then you skew the valve top back onto the extensionleft the forum March 20230
