Does anyone know if the new Strava route planner will give turn by turn directions on the Garmin 500 once exported as .tcx file?

Alternatively, is there a website which can do this in one hit, to avoid having to use both bikeroutetoaster and garmin training center?

Cheers

Why can't you export from bikroutetoaster to the garmin?

You can, but it doesn't give the turn by turn instructions, just the breadcrumb trail which crashes on routes which exceed 50 miles.

I've used it for 300km rides on the 500 with no problem. You can also split the route which isn't a bad idea.

Agree with Grill, I've had no problems over 50 miles with mine. And exporting from bikeroutetoaster as a tcx gives me the turn by turn instructions.

If it's crashing on long routes, the memory is full (or filling up). Clear it out, you will thank me for this. ;)

Ah OK, I'll give the bikeroutetoaster site another go. I haven't tried it in over a year as it all seemed a long faff to get the direction functionality working.

    Cheers all!

I've not experienced it crashing personally, but have seen a good deal of talk on the Garmin forums.
