Hi there. Anybody out there experienced component issue problems with the Kuota Kharma. On a personal note mine has been back to the shop on seven different occasions with varying issues from gears slipping due to a bent hanger which eventually broke on straightening, to headset bearings needing replacing, to annoying frame creaks, I appreciate carbon does flex and possibly make unusual sounds but these are more than that. Had the bike two months and the bike is back in the workshop as I speak. In all fairness the shop has been fantastic in trying to resolve these ever increasing problems. I feel the bike was a Friday afternoon assembly and feel as though I warrant a replacement bike or at the very least new parts. Anybody got any opinions. I am a patient man but I am coming to the end of my tether. Apologies for the drawn out rant.

  • Got mine the end of Jan, racked up the miles since then and had no problems, sounds like you've been really unlucky. Where did you get it from?

  • Hi. bought the bike from Bespoke in Derby. My friend and I purchased two identical kitted out bikes, his has been flawless. minus a little expected cable stretch, mine the complete opposite. Glad yours is performing well. What is your overall opinion on the Kuota. As I said the shop have been great cannot fault there resolve to sort the issues out. Not blessed with luck it has to be said.
  • Love it, especially how you can custom the build. When the time comes to drop some serious money on a new bike (which is bound to happen eventually!) I'd certainly consider the KOM among other brands. If this latest trip to the shop doesn't solve your problems I would ask for a full service at their expense because the fault must lie with them, you're well within warranty.

Let me know how you get on with this

Mine has been flawless for 2 years and 7000+ miles

    Damn that's done it

  • Will do dnwhite88. I believe Andy at Bespoke will be stripping it down to the bare bones replacing the bearings where bearings are required. My cycling buddy who's previous bike was a allu spec is bowled over by the power output from the carbon BB30. Looking forward to a trouble free bike on it's return. So another satisfied customer in DaveL ?

Yes I love the bike, upgraded the wheels to Fulcrum Quattros, although a bit harsh over bumpy roads, I can live with that as they look sh*t hot :D

  • Yeh I found the ride a litte harsh and skittish on our scar filled roads, but the beauty of the bike far outweighs the negatives imo. I upgraded the bars to 3T carbon along with stem to take out a little of the harsh ride, appears to have lessened it rather than eradicate it. Also upgraded the hoops to mavic Krysiums elites. Apart from the above mentioned issues I love the bike.

A friend of mine has had some issues, mainly around poor quality bearings and cables, but apart from that he's been really happy with it.

I got mine about April time and 1.3k miles later and not a problem. The gears slipping and breaking won't be Kuota's fault as they don't make them, but the squeaky frame is. Just sounds like a lot of bad luck, hope it doesn't put you off as I have nothing but love for my Evo Force and will likely stick with the brand if and when I upgrade

Three years on my Kebel, not far off 10k and still fine. Only wear was the headset which did about 6k before going a bit stiff. Frame can give a little creak now and then but i put that down to my massive power

It has been a little noisy from the first few months during which time it could quite annoy me. With time i just cared less and its not progressed. The headset getting changed got rid of a few creaks too. Seat post was responsible for some noise initially , which was cured with a touch of grease.

All in all i love it to bits and it still looks bloody great.

    :)
