Just a heads up really.

I bought (using a Credit Card) a set of Shimano carbon C35 tubs, one brake track blistered and eventually Madison refunded the well known on-line retailer, as Madison no longer offer any spares or support for these 2yo wheels...its all 11 sp now.
MADISON were worse than useless and laughed when i quoted the shimano DA/XTR 3yr warranty to them, they said thats shimanos policy NOT ours ! so another worthless piece of paper...... so i thought!
The retailer wouldnt refund me, offering a cheaper set of wheels or a pro rata refund, leaving me £400 out of pocket.
Contacted credit card provider, and whay hey suddenly, after (they) writting to said retailer, (im not going to name them, as they ve always been very fair to me in the past and dispite everything, i would still use them again) i now will get a full refund :)

seems that under sect 75, the provider of the CC and the retailer are equally liable and the user can claim for a variety of wrongs under this bit of legislation, look under moneysavingexpert.com for more info - i had no idea there was this level of protection using a CC.

  • Pretty much everything I order online is on the CC as i know the level of protection if far greater. I don't know the in's and out's of it but I know it's easier to claim money back for fraudulent use. I do also use PayPal for conviniance but I should get out of this habit just on your advice I think!
