initial play in Fox triad shock

Basically as title, I've noticed that my rear shock has an initial feeling of play in the first few mm of travel. I'm talking when in not sat on the bike so the shock is fully extended. Seems ok when I'm on it as the sag comes into play so the shock is 20% compressed. I've recently changed the shock bushings plus the main frame pivot bearing. Can't seem to see or feel any play in other bearings. Is this normal for the shock or should I be looking for play elsewhere? Cheers, Chris
