Is this road bike worth the money?

I'm looking for a good looking (cosmetically) road bike, but I want it fully working and as light as possible. I've come across this, and before buying I wanted to know if it's worth it or not.
Here is the bike:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123
The bike also weighs 11.55kg, which I consider light enough (my old vintage bike was 15-16kg). For this money, could I do better? If so, where should I look, and what should I search for?
Thanks.

Some old bikes are things of beauty. The ebay one is a bog standard bike as you'd see in the school bike sheds. It's not antique or retro - its just cheap rubbish. Bikes have come along in leaps and bounds since then. I'd not use that one to nip to the shops.0 -

Jeez - somebody really paid that much money for that? I've got two of them in the garage - looks like I'm onto a winner. I like a classic bike but to buy for everyday use not a chance! And 11.5kg might be light compared to the 15-16kg you are used to, but it's still like dragging a tank up a mountain.0
