Looking to add clip on bars to my road bike. Will have to be added and taken off for TTs. Not a permanent fitting. Any recommendations?
Thanks

From experience, no, you need to find the ones that work with your body shape. If you can borrow some that'd be ideal. Otherwise take a punt on some second handers..
I've got profile t2, can't say I like them, they work very close together and are very straight.0 -
I would have a look at the deda options which are cheap.
If you have a bit of money though I'd go with zipps offering at around £75
this way if you do decide to take the leap and buy a proper tt bike you could carry over these brackets as they are massively adjustable with the use of many spacers and ways of clamping.
Please be aware however if you are putting straight onto a road bike unless you have a massive amount of saddle to bar drop your position will come out higher than without the bars as ultimately the pads will be at least 2cm above the bar, in this case I'd look at getting an adjustable stem and pointing it downwards to negate this difference.0 -
I'm sure I read a review lately of about 20 clip ons and the best value ones were by Token I think - like these - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/toke ... tAodWkIAdQ
I dont like the straight bars either - puts your wrists in an unnatural position.0 -
15 of the best / worst

Save your money and get a proper TT bike if budget allows. Fitting TT bars every week, adjusting the seat, stem, spacers etc gets very boring after a while.0

Or if your budget doesn't the Token ones in the TriRadar article are perfectly acceptable for a club rider doing tens.0

Thanks for advice and links.
TT bike. n+1 if only!
Some great food for thought.0 -
Don't bother with clip-ons. Far better off just just concentrating on getting a good comfortable position on the drops.0

I don't think so. Much faster on tribars.0

Get the token bars, they'll be fine if you just want little free speed on your solo rides.0
