Hi,
Never taken forks apart so total rookie. I'm on a budget and happy to DIY if things are easy enough!
Just inherited a set of 2009 Dual Air Race and they feel and sound squeltchy when push through travel and also the lockout doesn't work.

Where would I start? Would removing the damper and checking the oil be a good start? what about seals and the squeltchy noise?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

    oil damped forks do Squelch.

where to start. download and read the service manual from Srams web site.

When you say the lockout doesn't work, what do you mean? With the compression damper fully closed, there will still be a fair bit of travel, just less and slower than when it's fully open.

As for squelchiness, my revelations sound like someone walking through a bog in wellies. It's the oil being forced through small gaps in the compression damper.

Ok, squelchyness is probably not a problem then!

When i turn the compression knob and also fully close the floadgate with 2.5mm allen it doesn't change the way the forks move.
