Not nec Strava, but you know what I mean.

My smartphone is bust so I need something c. £25-30 to tide me over until I can upgrade/renew contract in Feb. Proper Android/iOS phones aren't around at this price even used, as far as I can tell... is there any way you can record a ride as a GPX/wtvr file with an old skool not-very-smartphone that has GPS (and web access I guess)?

Alternatively if anyone wants to lend me one of their spare smartphones for a few months...

If you already have a cheap phone that has bluetooth & runs Java apps, you can get bluetooth GPS receivers for about £20 that'll connect, then install trekbuddy (free) on the phone. I used that setup on a Sony K800 for a year or so. Worked fine.
  • You should be able to get something like an HTC Desire for that sort of money, which would fit your requirements. I bet the battery will be poor for long trips though.

    ebay, anything android will do.

Might be worth looking into the new firefox phone don't know if strava will have an app for it or if it will run android apps. They're only going to be £60, I'm thinking about one for riding so I don't smash up my proper phone.

CEX have used android phones going for around £30, probably be a bt worse than cr4p but should be fine if you just want to run strava. I used to use a huawei blaze for logging rides and it worked fine!
