I am looking for a new set of light weight alu wheels to compliment deep carbons for when the conditions are either technical, windy or wet!

I have narrowed the choice down to either Fulcrum Racing Zero's of Shimano C24's.

As they are for a junior, I am restricted to using an Ultegra 6600 14-25 cassette.

Does the 6600 10 speed cassette fit the 9000 10/11 free hub?

Yes, the wheels should come with a 1.8 mm spacer that you fit before fitting the cassette. This is in addition to the normal spacer that comes with Shimano 10 speed cassettes

    Thanks

Just out of curiosity, which would you recommend for racing under the conditions I mentioned?

Though I suspect it will come down to a combination of which set he likes the look of on his bike, and price / deal, as it is unlikely he will get a chance to try a set of both out.

I am not the best person to recommend any of them... I'll leave that to those who use them...

Both great wheels but I plummed for the new C24s..buttery smooth and rapid acceleration, Im 85kg and had no issues

Looks wise Fulcrum Zero's take some beating , C24's imho are better value for money, better aero performance, tubless ready and easier to service and replace parts than Fulcrum which seem more robust. However from reading reviews on here are a pain to get expensive replacement partsif you are extremely unlucky to get a poorly made set

I have the c24 9000 and the 2013 Zero. They are both very good sets of wheels. If I had to choose then I would go with the C24 as they are circa £200 cheaper and there is not a material performance difference between them.

My only experiences with the DA C24 are
    1) a local guy brought a set here because they needed truing. I refused to true them because the rims were well past their safe wear limits. The guy looked for replacement rims, but found them too pricey and new spokes needed to be factored in too. He asked me if I could rebuild the wheels on different rims, but we didn't find any alternative bladed straight pull spoke that would fit the bill (need to be bladed in that type of construction), as the Sapim CX ray, pretty much the only available, were too thin for a 20 spokes rear wheel for that rider. We could not find any other bladed spoke available as straight pull and the availability of 16 holes rims (for the front) was also very limited. I think he has broken up the wheels and tried to sell the hubs on Ebay... not sure how sought after they are, given the above. Shame because the hubs are of outstanding quality

    2) Another guy brought here a set with a damaged front rim and we managed to repair the dent using an adjustable spanner... I then trued the wheel and he sent me a note saying he rode it and it was fine... that was a lucky escape...

Price of spare spokes DA C 24 per unit 3-4 pounds
The carbon laminate rims for DA C 24 are 250 pounds each
