I ride a Cannondale Caad 10 and i recently changed the seatpost for a new one, everything was fine before i changed the post but from i changed the post i am experience hand pain after about 1/2 hour,
The new post was identical to the old post, took measurements off the post and saddle rails before i removed the old post, so can anyone offer any help why this is happening, and what i could do to fix it?

Could it be saddle angle isn't the same... Tipping you forward a little putting pressure on your hands/ palms possibly?

I thought that too, saddle is perfectly level, used spirit level to check.

I will check all measurements again, could 1 or 2 mm make a difference?

Adjust the saddle but if all else fails you'll probably find the pain just goes away. Our bodies are pretty good at toughening up to new stresses.

Also worth considering is some new nicely padded gloves and changing your hand position more often.

    Thanks guys for your replies.
I have just thoroughly checked everything all was the same apart from the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket to the saddle which was 4mm higher with the new post fitted so i moved it down 4mm,
As for padded gloves i use the Specialized BG Comp gloves.

That'll be it then - 4mm could be enough to raise you up higher to have to lean forward more on the bars.
