I need to replace the pads (front and back), on my Specialized Allez. They are the 105 model brakes, can you recommend a model and shop to buy from. Also, I have never changed the brakes, I would imagine that it is not too hard to do, if you have a link for an excellent video that would be appreciated, many thanks

Swisstop Green are good all-rounders - but pricey. Cheaper alternatives include Koolstop and Fibrax.
To change the pads you use a small allen key to release the retainer screw, slide the pad from the holder, fit new pad and refit the screw.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Thanks guys, will look at the different choices/prices. I can't complain, had the bike for a while now and that is the first money I will be spending. Need a new front tyre too but that can wait a tiny bit longer

EDIT: Went for the Koolstop at the end, decent review and they seem to do the job

Would it be too obvious to say get 105 brake pads? I have them and they are fine, although they did come with the calipers.

And you don't need a video. They literally just unscrew with an allen key, then you put the new one in, line it up and screw back into place. x4 and you're done.

Koolstop are a better alternative to the standard 105 pads. Far superior braking. Good choice.
    SOLITUDE. It's not for everyone.

You should try the Swissstop Blues. They are brilliant in all conditions.

I am more than happy with Superstar pads in my 105 brakes. Far far better than the std 105 pads and loads cheaper too.

I can never understand the argument saying that Swisstop are pricey compared to Kool Stop pads. Swisstop are what £21 for 2 pairs and Kool Stop are £9-10 for a pair which makes them near on same price. For what it's worth i'll never change from using Swisstop Flash pro green, amazing braking dry or wet

When the time comes to replace my 105 pads think its going to have to be Swiss greens.
