Would these rims & tyres work together?

Thinking of buying these for my old bicycle but not sure if they'd work together:

Reason I'm doubting it is because on the wheel it states "590 X 19" while on the tyres it states "590x28"

    Sheldon is your friend:

The 19mm on the wheel will be the rim width whereas the 28 is the tyre width (at its widest point). Looking at Sheldon shows that you will be fine.

590 is the important number as that's ERTO dimension which needs to be the same. As long as the tyre width doesn't exceed 2x the internal rim width you'll be OK - there are exceptions as I'm running some 3" wide MTB tyres on 30mm wide rims
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Why not ask the seller as they are both from the same person?

He even suggests telling him your current tyre size so he can advise whether or not they will work.
