Yes, I know, not another wheel thread...

Having snagged myself a Scott CR1 Pro frame, I am now collecting the other required parts to build myself a relatively economical Weekend/Occasional commute/Perhaps Sportive ride. I have a 105 groupset and am looking for the wheels now.

At 6' 4" and 108kg I am no flyweight. I hope to be sub 100kg in a few months but still larger that average. Looking around at wheels most seems to be a few spokes short of a full set for me.

Currently these seem to be the best I have found;

Can anyone suggest a better wheel for ~£200?

Thanks!

    I would even go for a more robust rim than this... Kinlin rims are quite lightweight and fragile and will wear out quickly. SOmething bespoke like Ambrosio Excursion or Balance on Shimano 105 hubs will probably cost you around 200 pounds and it will be more robust

    Ive had those wheels as replacements for another set of planet x wheels i broke. I was 85kg at the time and managed to break them within a week. As Ugo says, stay well away!

    Thanks for the advice, I am glad I asked now! I guess I need to find someone local to me to build me a set.
