Bike bags

I am considering a bike bag. I am unlikely to be trusting airport baggage handlers with a bike so absolute protection isn't a requirement.
It is mainly likely to be when we go away for a couple of days somewhere in range of the bike - keep the fingers of two curious boys away from the chain/gears and avoid upsetting the housekeeping staff/hotel by having a bike in the room.
One that doesn't take up too much space in the car would be good.
Any decent bang for the buck bags?
Has anyone had a decent look at the Revolution (Edinburgh cycle coop) as I have £100 vouchers for them, and am struggling to find something to spend it on...
Thanks,
Paul.

That Edinburgh Bicycle one looks fine for what you plan o using it for. An alternative is Chain Reactions bike bag at £70 - I have the Brand X version and have used it on flights with some corrugated plastic sheets to add further inside protection - the same could be done with the EB one. the CR/Brand X version also has better handles and extra zips that allow it to be mounted to a bike carrier. They are not too big so this should help when in a car - you need something decent sized like a Passat/Mondeo or at least a Focus/Astra Estate if you want to keep the back seats up.Kev

Thanks - I was wondering as well how the budget bags like http://www.wiggle.co.uk/b-w-bike-sack/ or http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=35558
I have a feeling I may be taking a closer look at the revolution. I dislike having gift vouchers lying around and like to spend them quickly.

I've got one of these, it's not designed to offer any real protection but the bike goes in with just the front wheel off and the bars turned. Awesome for the car and folds up small

Been using this Polaris bike bag weekly for the past 9 months and it does the job pretty well.

It's a bit more expensive now (picked it up for £84 last year). Goes in the back seat of my 3 series with ease. I remove seat post and wheels from the bike and they also go in the bag. The bag doesn't quite close because of the handlebars but only in the corner.Scott CR1 Pro

Thanks all - that Polaris looks remarkably like the Revolution at Edinburgh :-)
