A cyclist got hit head on by a motorcyclist this morning on New Cross Rd (just outside the post office); I think (it was behind me and when I looked round they were just falling off their bikes) what happened was the motorbike crossed onto the other side of the road to go around a car that was in the wrong lane and so had stopped. He can't have seen the cyclist who was riding in the other direction and crashed straight into him.

I went back to make sure someone had called an ambulance and the poor cyclist seemed to be unconscious. Motorcyclist seemed relatively unscathed.

Fingers crossed that the cyclist is ok.

I know that spot, I've nearly collided with motorbikes myself there. When the traffic heading into London builds up at the lights , cyclists, myself included, often head to the middle of the road between the 2 lanes of traffic toi filter as there's a traffic islandd on the other side. Unfortunately so do many moped and motorcycle riders coming in the opposite direction trying to pass slow moving traffic in that direction. As it's on a bend, motorbikes coming in the other direction often seem to spill over a bit into the lane heading into London as may have happened here...
