Is it worth upgrading from 105 to ultegra for extra stopping power? Already have swisstop green pads in.

If Sram red are compatible then those? Both good deals online.

Thanks

No it is not worth it... they are the same thing. Brakes do work... in fact they do work too well, considering locking the wheel is not unusual. If they don't work it's because they are poorly set up, the cables are dirty or they are full of gunk

as Ugo said if you have swissstop pads already you're best looking at your set up, I rode my brand new 105s in the Alps a couple of weeks back and almost had a heart attack when i found the stock pads provided no stopping force, mind you i was going 92 k/ph at the time 8)

I immediately swapped those out for some swissstops, problem sorted and high speed descending restored 8)
